Armed Police Invade High School, No Drugs Found
A drug sweep Wednesday morning at a South Carolina school has some parents and students questioning police tactics.

Surveillance video from Stratford High School in Goose Creek shows 14 officers, some with guns drawn, ordering students to lie the ground as police searched for marijuana. Students who didn't comply with the orders quickly enough were reportedly handcuffed.
Ominously, in some of the video stills at The Memory Hole there appears a uniformed military officer. It's unclear from the context if he was there as a part of the raid.

Jagger Plans To Hide Knighthood From Richards

Rolling Stone Sir Mick Jagger is begging Britain's Queen not to release images of footage of him being knighted later this month - because he's terrified of upsetting bandmate Keith Richards even more. Hardman rocker Richards was furious when the honor was announced last year and hit out again this week, dubbing the frontman "ludicrous" and the knighthood "paltry". He ranted in a magazine interview, "It's not what the Stones are about. I thought it was ludicrous to take one of those gongs from the establishment when they did their very best to throw us in jail. I don't want to step out on stage with someone wearing a f***ing coronet and sporting the old ermine. I told Mick, 'It's a f***ing paltry honor." Now Jagger is so scared of upsetting him further, he's trying to stop pictures of him receiving his investiture from Queen Elizabeth II from escaping her London home, Buckingham Palace. A band insider says, "It's a really, really sore issue. Mick has asked the Palace that no images of him being knighted are made public - solely because he's worried about Keith doing his nut if he sees it on telly."

Peyote may have medicinal benefits
Experts are debating the benefits, risks of hallucinogenic drugs.

graphic from
http://www.niagara.com/~studio/stills3/sleepless-with-peyote.htm

PHILADELPHIA -- Long before Timothy Leary and Ken Kesey and the counterculture generation discovered hallucinogenic drugs, the Indians of western Mexico were using peyote to commune with their gods.

Anthropologist Peter T. Furst, who spent 30 years among the Huichol people, says that Indian shamans have been using hallucinogenic plants as a doorway to the divine for thousands of years, likely following a tradition carried by their ancestors over the Bering Strait.

And now, some U.S. scientists are exploring how these substances might be used by doctors to battle anxiety, mental illness and alcoholism.

"These compounds hold tremendous potential for helping us understand how the brain functions, and they have untapped potential for healing," said Charles Grob, a psychiatry professor at UCLA Medical School.

Some early studies suggest that LSD can ease the sense of dread that people feel when they are dying. "There were some very interesting and promising results," said Grob. He recently secured approval from the Food and Drug Administration to continue this line of inquiry using the milder drug psilocybin, the active ingredient in hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Archaeological finds in Texas show remnants of peyote that date back around 7,000 years. Even earlier finds show a hallucinogenic seed associated with remains of giant mastodons and other Pleistocene animals that go back at least 10,000 years.

Furst said he believed it was likely the Huichol and other tribes brought a tradition of hallucinogen use from Siberia before they entered the Americas more than 15,000 years ago.

Others see evidence for shamanism in early Europe. "Shamanism emerged at least 40,000 years ago and is reflected in Paleolithic rock art," said Michael Winkelman, an anthropologist from Arizona State University. "Not all societies depended on hallucinogenic plants but where they found them, people built up institutions around these substances," he said. "They are seen as a source of divine inspiration."

When the Spanish invaded Mexico, they labeled peyote the "diabolic root," Furst said, and tried to stamp out its use. In the 1960s, peyote achieved a cult following. After a long legal battle, Furst said, peyote was legalized in 1994 in the United States for members of certain American Indian religions.

Arizona's Winkelman said he believes there is something in human biology that makes us want to reach for such altered states.

People use the term hallucinogen loosely to apply to many mind-altering drugs, but peyote belongs to a small family that shares similar modes of action on the brain. They include psilocybin, LSD and morning glory seeds.

Studies like the Good Friday Experiment ended after psilocybin and other hallucinogens were made illegal in the late 1960s and early '70s, but a handful of scientists today are looking at ways these types of drugs might help people.

John Halpern, associate director of substance abuse research at Harvard University and McLean Hospital, is investigating the possibility that peyote prevents alcoholism in American Indians.

Iao Valley State Park

'Iao Valley is the site of one of the most famous battles that occurred in 1790 and changed Hawaii history forever when King Kamehameha I destroyed the Maui army in an effort to unite the Hawaiian Islands.

BIRTH OF IAO NEEDLE

http://www.mauigateway.com/~rw/myths1.htm

Once in Old Hawaii, in the days when anything was possible, Maui, the most powerful God, had a beautiful daughter. Maui loved her very much and as he watched her grow up, he vowed that only the most worthy King in all the islands would marry her.

But without her father knowing, the beautiful maiden fell in love with Puuokamoa, a Merman God. She knew that her father wouldn't approve, so they kept their romance secret. Every day the beautiful maiden sneaked off to meet her love and every night she returned home, radiant. One day, a townsperson saw the two of them together and ran back and told Maui of his daughter's secret lover.

Maui was furious. He flew into a rage and his screams of anger were heard by Madame Pele, the volcano Goddess. She flew in her supernatural way to where Maui was and suddenly appeared in front of him.

"What is so horribly wrong to put you in such an uproar?" Madame Pele asked.

"My beautiful daughter has fallen in love with a God and I disapprove. When I see him, I am going to have him condemned to a fiery death", Maui said.

"Who is this God?", Pele asked.

"His name is Puuokamoa".

Madame Pele frowned at the mention of his name. "Oh no, Puuokamoa is my friend. Spare him, Maui. I beg you. Do not have him killed".

But Maui would not listen. Madame Pele was still pleading with him when his beautiful daughter returned. She heard her father's death sentence on her lover and burst into tears.

"Oh Father", she sobbed, "I cannot live without the sight of Puuokamoa".

The Father's heart softened at the sight of his daughter and thinking that she would be unhappy for the rest of her life if she could not see the man she loved. Finally, after much thought, Maui put his arms around his daughter and lifted up her beautiful face. Tears soaked her unhappy eyes.

"Daughter dear, I cannot bear to see you unhappy", Maui said tenderly. "But I cannot allow this romance to continue. You cannot marry this Merman God".

His daughter waited to hear what her powerful father had decided. Madame Pele stood quietly, waiting to hear the fate of her friend.

"I will not reduce him to ashes", Maui said.

"Oh, father dear", the daughter cried out, hugging him.

"I will turn him into stone. Then you may gaze upon him, but your romance will be pau (over)".

And that is how the mountain, known as the Needle, at Iao Valley came to be. It is the Merman God turned to stone for all to gaze upon.

Atheists are Discriminated Against in Seven State Constitutions!

Yes, Atheists are discriminated against in seven state's constitutions. When I first heard about this I was shocked; I found it very hard to believe. I knew that Atheists are not liked very well in our country, but discrimination? I did some research and found out the offensive truth. Below I have provided links to each of the state constitutions that discriminate against Atheists.

Were the Nephilim Neanderthals?
A speculative research paper examining current evidence available on Neanderthal man with comparison to references in early manuscripts of the Nephilim an ancient race of half-breed humans. The argument is presented that the scientific facts verify that the Neanderthal were in fact one and the same as the ancient warrior race the Nephilim. It is here proposed that an examination of the evidence and facts currently available on Neanderthal man reveal that they could well have been a race of half-breed humans referred to in some of the earliest manuscripts found as the Nephilim.

Ann Coulter's Nude Brain
Ann Coulter's Religious War

Date Posted: Tuesday, December 02, 2003

an excerpt:

Republicans and conservatives say the darnest things.

First, Ann Coulter. Don't think I am obsessing over here just because this is my second mention of her in two weeks. I don't recall having written about her madness before these latest strikes. But it was hard to resist returning to the subject after reading an account of a lecture she delivered to the impressionable minds of Northwestern University. She took the predictable potshots at liberals. And then she proclaimed that the war on terror is a "religious war." She explained, in a way:

"This is a religious war, not against Islam but for Christianity, for a Christian nation. When this nation was founded, there was nothing like it. Our founders said there is a God and we are all equal before God. The ideal of equality and tolerance is like nothing that has ever existed in the world before. That, too, is a Christian value. The concept of equality, especially when it comes to gender equality, was not invented by Gloria Steinem. It was invented by Jesus Christ. As long as people look long enough, they will always come to Christianity."

Are equality and tolerance historical Christian values? (Note she does not bother to use the more PR-friendly and inclusive phrase "Judeo-Christian values.") Ask the victims of the Inquisition or the Crusades. America's Christian founders may have preached equality, but they hardly practiced it. See slavery. Did the "ideal of equality and tolerance" only appear with the birth of the United States? Check out the preceding Age of Enlightenment. (Locke celebrated a state of nature in which people were happy, tolerant, free and equal.) And Jesus invented feminism? Then why did the "Christian nation" of the United States deny women the right to vote? Why has the Catholic Church refused to ordain female priests? Why do certain fundamentalist Christians insist that women submit to their husbands? (cont.)

STREISAND PRIVACY CASE REJECTED BY JUDGE
STREISAND PRIVACY CASE REJECTED BY JUDGE; PHOTO IMAGES OF HOUSE NOT VIOLATION, MUST PAY LEGAL FEES...

DECEMBER 3--A Los Angeles judge today threw out Barbra Streisand's $10 million suit against a California environmental group that posted a photo of the singer's cliffside Malibu estate on its web site. In a 46-page tentative decision, the summary from which you'll find below, Superior Court Judge Allan J. Goodman declared that the aerial photo's publication was protected by the First Amendment and, to boot, was not "highly offensive to a reasonable person." Swatting away Streisand's claim that her privacy was violated, Goodman stated, "As a matter of law, there is nothing private or personal" about the photo, a copy of which you'll find at right. Making matters worse for the performer, Goodman indicated that he is ready to award legal fees to the California Coastal Records Project and the group's founder Kenneth Adelman, who snapped the image which so offended Babs.

excerpt:

When President Bush delivers a speech recognizing the centenary of heavier-than-air-powered flight December 17, it is expected that he will proffer a bold vision of renewed space flight, with at its center a return to the moon, perhaps even establishment of a permanent presence there. If he does, it will mean that he has decided the United States should once again become a space-faring nation. For more than 30 years America's manned space program has limited itself to low Earth orbit; indeed, everyone under the age of 31 — more than 125 million Americans — was born since an American last set foot on the moon.

The speech will come at a time when events are converging to force some important decisions about the future of American efforts in space. China has put a man in orbit, plans a launch of three Sinonauts together, and has announced its own lunar program. The space shuttle is grounded, and its smaller sibling, the "orbital space plane," may not be built. The International Space Station, behind schedule, over budget, and of limited utility, has been scaled back post-Columbia.

A THEORY OF EXISTENCE, PERCEPTION, AND PHYSICAL PHENOMENA
Tom Bearden Website: Technical Papers

http://www.cheniere.org/techpapers/index.html

ABSTRACT

A fundamental answer is attempted to the questions of being, time, space, existence, perception, and physical phenomena. Mass, empty space, reality, gravitational attraction, continuity, discontinuity, and relativity are among the "things" and "nonthings" for which relationships and explanations are provided.

Perception is defined as detection by a mass of change to itself and as a differentiating process. Perceived physical phenomena are revealed to be first derivatives of ultimate reality, and outputs of the physical perceiving device call the "perceptron." Using the operation of the physical perception process on action, the units of which are energy times time, an entirely different view is generated of both reality and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. When superposition is imposed as a condition, the Heisenberg uncertainty principle is revealed to be a quantized statement. A concept of the absolute value of a dimensional molecule is advanced.

A reality model is constructed of an action continuum and a nonaction continuum separated by an operational threshold whose magnitude is given by an uncertainty principle. Perception is modeled as a process which switches atomic quanta of action and nonaction back and forth across the threshold. Mass is explained as perceptron switch activity rate, and a mass definition equation is generated. One kilogram mass is shown to represent 17.053 x 1050 perceptron switches per second. From the model, Newton's laws of motion and gravity can be generated directly from the concept of the interaction of mass with space itself, space being taken as a massless fluid, or ether, composed of tiny nonaction particles called "quitons." Einstein's postulates of special relativity are also shown to follow from the model, and a statement of the equivalence principle is shown to be consistent with the model.

The concept of "lineception" as a causal chain of perceptron operations is advanced. "Inception" is developed as a noncausal modulation of lineception and as a distinguishing feature of a living system. The possibility is raised that inception could provide an explanation of the noncausal, statistical, ultramicroscopic universe and yet require large ensembles of ultramicroscopic events to conform to causality. Inception is shown to lead to karma. Perception is shown to be causal and to generate causality itself.

Some elementary philosophical implications of quiton/perceptron theory are pointed out and briefly discussed.

The Assassination of John Lennon

Richard Nixon, his administration and other right-wing politicians (including ultraconservative ancient Senator Strom Thurmond, who personally memoed Attorney Gerneral John Mitcell on the matter) were fixated on what they saw as the Lennon problem. To them, the politically outspoken singer-songwriter was an insidious subversive of the worst kind, the famous and beloved kind.

J. Edgar Hoover shared their concerns. One page of Lennon's FBI file bears the handwritten, block-lettered, under lined words, ALL EXTREMISTS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED DANGEROUS. The government went all-out to deny Lennon his longed-for permanent U.S. residency, and more than that, to deport him altogether (that was the subject of Thurmond's memo).

Lennon's FBI file - at nearly three hundred pages as chubby as Hoover himself - reveals that he was under "constant surveillance." Nor did the G-men keep a particularly low profile around the ex-Beatle, apparently attempting to harass him into silence or at least drive him nuts, similar to the tactic they had used on Martin Luther King, Jr., a few short but eventful years earlier.

In late 1972, when the "surveillance" was at its peak, Lennon told humorist Paul Krassner, "Listen, if anything happens to Yoko and me, it was not an accident."

The FBI and the CIA tracked Lennon at least from his "Free John Sinclair" concert in 1969 until 1976 - even though by then Lennon had won his immigration battle and dropped out of not only political activism but public life altogether into what turned out to be a five-year period of seclusion. His apartment was watched, he was followed, his phone was tapped.

Placing a person under "constant surveillance" and ordering that person executed are admittedly two different things. Nevertheless, Bresler's point is that the government did not consider John Lennon a harmless rock 'n' roller whose awkward entrance into the world of political activism often carried a high cringe factor (as in his Montreal "bed-in").

He was viewed as a dangerous radical who needed to be stopped.

And in a way that official paranoia might have been justified, because as embarrassing as Lennon and Ono's political publicity stunts occasionally became, John Lennon was always capable of seizing the spotlight and speaking directly to millions of young people who venerated him.

With unfettered access to the media, his power was immense, at least potentially so, and recognized by more experienced radicals like Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman, who linked themselves to Lennon, clinging to close that they made the rock star uncomfortable.

Lennon was killed just four years after the intense FBI/CIA surveillance ceased. In those intermittent years, Jimmy Carter was president - a Democrat who kept the two gestapo-ish agencies more or less in check.

But in December 1980, when John Lennon's first album in half a decade was high on the charts, Carter was a lame duck chief executive, having lost his reelection bid to Ronald Reagan. Reagan's campaign was managed by career secret agent William Casey, who under President Reagan became the CIA's most freewheeling chief since Allen Dulles. The new far-right administration would reassemble the intelligence services and grant them a cheerful carte blanche.

The forces that tried desperately to neutralize Lennon for at least seven years lost power in 1976. Lennon's government dossier ends in that year. In 1980, as those forces were preparing to retake control of the government, "dangerous extremist" John Lennon emerged from retirement. Within a few months he was murdered.

MKULTRA, Conspiracy, Mindcontrol, Manson, SLA, LSD, CIA, MLK, JFK Project Mind Kontrol: Programmed Assassins ?

http://labyrinth13.com/Mkultra.htm

Yet another "lone nut" assassin who killed "leftist" John Lennon in New York City on December 8, 1980.

Chapman had possible ties to the CIA as a former World Vision Employee. (World Vision Missionaries is an "international evangelical order" that has performed espionage work for CIA). Allegedly, while working for World Vision, Chapman was trained in terrorist infested, war-torn Beruit as a "security guard".

Less than four months before John Hinckley Jr. attempted to gun down Reagan, Chapman shot and killed John Lennon in what may have been a practice run for Hinckley's later assassination attempt on Reagan. It is known (via the Freedom of Information Act) that the FBI kept an extensive file on Lennon and considered him to be a "dangerous left-wing subversive."

The FBI was able to keep Lennon from obtaining permanent residency in the United States, watched his apartment, followed him and even tapped his telephone. According to British Journalist Fenton Bresler, who wrote the book, "Who Killed John Lennon?," the FBI viewed Lennon (who was a close confidant to ultra-radicals Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman) as a dangerous radical who exerted a strong influence on the public through his music and political activities.

After shooting Lennon, Chapman sat down and calmly began reading from The Catcher in the Rye, a novel by J.D. Salinger. (Interestingly, J.D. Salinger, author of "Catcher" served in the Counter Intelligence Corps during WWII with Henry Kissinger. Others have theorized that this book served as some sort of post-hypnotic suggestion or program "trigger"). (6) Chapman himself claims that he killed Lennon to promote the reading of "Catcher in the Rye," yet according to those who knew him, Chapman never exhibited strong feeling about the book until just prior to the shooting.

Chapman has been quoted as saying this about the shooting:

"He (Lennon) walked past me and then I heard in my head, 'Do it, do it, do it, like that,' I don't remember aiming. I must have done, but I don't remember drawing a bead or whatever you call it...I had no emotion, no anger....dead silence in the brain."

Fenton Bresler believed that Chapman was a brainwashed hit man. He wrote that, "Mark David Chapman is in many ways as much the victim of those who wanted to kill John Lennon as Lennon himself."

The police detective (Arthur O'Connor) who interviewed Chapman immediately following the shooting was convinced, due to his strange demeanor, that Chapman was under the influence of some sort of hypnotic programming. (Chapman has officially been portrayed as simply an obsessed Beatles fan who stalked and killed Lennon for fifteen minutes of fame. A source of mine, who wishes to remain anonymous, told me about how he once worked in a record store in Decatur, Georgia where Mark David Chapman often shopped for records. He claims Chapman was not a Beatles fan at all, but rather that he seemed obsessed with the music of Todd Rundgren). O'Conner stated that "It is definitely illogical to say the Mark committed the murder to make himself famous. He did not want to talk to the press from the very start. It's possible Mark could have been used by somebody. I saw him the night of the murder. I studied him intensely. He looked as if he could have been programmed."

Although Chapman has been portrayed as a loner, he was anything but. He worked extensively with children as a camp counselor for the YMCA and appeared to have had a normal social life.

The Ballad Of John And Yoko

Lennon/McCartney

Standing in the dock at Southampton
trying to get to Holland or France
The man in the mac said
you've got to go back
You know they didn't even give us a chance

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

Finally made the plane into Paris
Honeymooning down by the Seine
Peter Brown call to say
you can make it O.K.
You can get married in Gibraltar near Spain

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

Drove from Paris to the Amsterdam Hilton
Talking in our beds for a week
The newspapers said
say what're you doing in bed
I said we're only trying to get us some peace

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

Saving up your money for a rainy day
giving all your clothes to charity
Last night the wife said
Oh boy when you're dead
you don't take nothing with you but your soul, think

Made a lightning trip to Vienna
Eating chocolate cake in a bag
The newspapers said
she's gone to his head
They look just like two coolies in drag

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

Caught the early plane back to London
Fifty acorns tied in a sack
The men from the press
said we wish you successs
It's good to have the both of you back

Christ you know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me
The way things are going
They're going to crucify me

Sean Lennon: Gov't killed my dad

http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Palladium/5185/Sean.html

"Anybody who thinks that Mark Chapman [who shot Lennon outside his New York apartment in 1980] was just some crazy guy who killed my dad for his personal interests, is insane. Or very naive. Or hasn't thought about it clearly. It was in the best interests of the United States to have my dad killed. Definitely. And, you know, that worked against them because, once he died, his powers grew . . . They didn't get what they wanted."

A TALK WITH JON WIENER
http://www.instantkarma.com/wiener.html
Jon Wiener is the author of "Come Together: John Lennon In His Time", which takes an in-depth look at the political years of the Lenonos. Wiener worked on the 60's underground "Old Mole" in the late 60's and has been published in many scholarly journals. Wiener's book about Lennon features a comprehensive history of John's politics and music from the early Beatle days to the bed-ins and J&Y's plans to attend a demonstration for striking Asian workers in San Francisco in December of 1980. Wiener has become an expert on the FBI case against John Lennon - sifting through the original 26 pounds of FBI and Immigration and Naturalization Service files obtained under the Freedom of Information Act. Wiener has also fought an ongoing battle to have materials released that were held back from the first batch of files for "reasons of national security." The Cellar - Ann Coulter rant

I wrote this to send to Jesse Walker, whose writing I enjoy and who has asked whether Ann Coulter is truly attractive. This is my own personal attempt to answer that question. If you don't care for pornographic screeds, please don't read on.

--

I've been waiting for an opportunity to write this...

It's shallow to give Ms. Coulter a free pass due to her looks, but that's what we are as men. Most Coulter-critics would ask men to step back a bit, stop being transfixed by high cheekbones, and evaluate her based on her words.

Of course, if you do that, she falls apart rather quickly.

Instead let's remain shallow. She's good-looking, fine. How long would that last? Would you be able to have a drink with her? Would you go home with her? Would you be interested in bedding her? Let's say you find her alone at a trendy watering hole: how would it go?

During the first five minutes, you would stare at the pleasant smile and the high cheekbones and wonder at how some people are just put together nicely.

During the second five minutes, she boldly insults the waiter for getting her drink order slightly wrong. You take it as a sign of strength. The woman knows what she wants and relentlessly demands it. But when the waiter brings her corrected drink and she puts him through a second round, you're a little embarrassed for the guy. After all, he didn't make that drink.

You share a lot of beliefs, but at minute 12 you find a difference. She starts to bark at you with her most put-on man-voice, and you notice that she attacks you with the same vigor she did the waiter. Well that's OK; you're not expected to agree on everything, and you don't mind strong independent women.

After a while you notice that when she's drinking her drink, her throat visibly moves through her neck skin. Normally you'd not give it a second thought, but since she's been harsh on you, you fixate on it a little. It's comforting to think she has an oddity, a flaw.

A "Seinfeld" re-run comes on the bar television, and she announces her displeasure with the choice very loudly, so that not only you are clear about it, but all the surrounding patrons are clear as well. During her rant she questions the family history of anyone who enjoys the show. You make a mental note not to show her your TiVo To-Do list if you wind up together at your place. Her rant goes a little too long and you squirm uncomfortably in your seat as others look at you.

You're still interested in her, but as time goes by, now that throat starts looking less like a throat and more like an adam's apple. Just then she questions the manliness of your job, and some of her attractiveness starts to wear a little. You notice that her perma-smile has not altered one bit, even through her more bitter statements. But you're still attracted to her... kinda.

She asks whether you'd like to leave to go back to her place, and when you take a moment, she says "Or aren't you man enough?" And you realize that she isn't joking; she's honestly questioning your manhood. And while you have no concerns at all about your manhood, you wonder why she has to question it.

She leaves a tiny tip and grabs your arm. Out to the cab, where she is a little too irritated at the taxi driver's accent. At this point, in your mind, her throat/adam's apple has grown to the size of a real apple. You realize that the beauty of her face is a little less when it's a piercing, power-play stare. She asks if you know anyone powerful at treasury or the DER, and you sense that she's not about having fun with you but about playing you for networking purposes.

She takes a phone call in the cab and starts yelling at the phone. Her determined growl sounds a little too familiar and you recognize it as the same as your boss when he plays petty office politics. She brazenly insults her caller. Her throat is now like a cantaloupe to you, her high cheekbones are symbols of power rather than beauty. You start to protest that maybe you have an early morning meeting tomorrow. She grabs your crotch and says "You'll be staying," and you manage to turn off your upper brain.

You reach her place and she demands that you hold her purse and coat while she rummages for her keys. You get in and she immediately wants to go to business. She notes "This is what you're here for, right?" as if there was a contractual agreement from the first five minutes in the bar. She throws you down on the bed, carefully removes her skirt and pantyhose and folds them over a chair. She demands that you go down on her for fifteen minutes. She proclaims that every other male who has been here in the last three months has been a horrible disappointment.

You start the task. Immediately she starts giving orders about how you are to proceed. After about a minute of this, you lose any hard-on you might have managed. Her throat is like a watermelon. Her voice is utterly masculine. Her hands are huge and cold and you realize you don't really want them touching you. She finds you hesitating and asks whether you're really up to the job.

After fourteen minutes, she finds a groove and basically humps your tongue and gets off. In the process she has practically knocked out your front teeth with her pubic bone, but she's satisfied. After 20 seconds of recovery, she says "And I suppose you want something for that effort?" Finally, at last, some consideration for you. She whacks you off, mechanically and without any emotion or even interest. Halfway through it, she asks what's taking so long. Her man-hands how completely frighten you, especially for where they are. You put it all out of your mind and try to think of Christie Brinkley. Then you realize that it took nine years for Billy Joel to find Brinkley unattractive, while you have found the unattractive side of Coulter in a single night. But remembering Brinkley gives you a moment, and you orgasm. Coulter coldly avoids your jizz as if it were toxic, cleans up immediately, even getting out a mini-bottle of Febreeze to spray where you got some on her 300-count sheets.

Forget the niceties of a goodbye drink; she expects you to go now. Five minutes later you have been ushered out the door. She didn't ask for your phone number and she didn't expect you to ask for hers. She's pleasant enough at the door, but leaves you with a statement that could be taken as an insult. As you walk out you realize that it has been a most unsatisfying experience, for which an orgasm was more the conclusion of a bad deal as it was intimacy.

Well that's how I think it would go, anyway.

Ann Coulter vs. Al Franken
http://www.lies.com/blog/archives/001330.html

Bryan Keefer at Spinsanity has an excellent write-up of a recent column in which nutjob Ann Coulter attempted to deflect some of Al Franken's recent charges against her: Coulter's questionable corrections. Keefer points out how, in defending herself against charges that she employed shoddy research, mischaracterized things, and misled people, Coulter employed shoddy research, mischaracterized things, and misled people.

Hey, at least she's consistent.

Keefer's conclusion: "The trivial number of corrections to Slander, as well as Coulter's refusal to engage her critics on most of the substantive issues they have raised, suggest that she's more interested in advancing her political agenda than factual accuracy." Really? You think?

Update: In an unrelated piece of Coulter-bashing, I noticed the following on Steve Gilliard's permalink challenged weblog, under the heading "Pet Peeve" (in which he was going off pretty entertainingly on Bill O'Reilly):

Hell, even Ann Coulter attacks people who can attack back. Sure, she can call Molly Ivins a traitor and Evan Thomas, the son of Norman Thomas, even though his name is Evan Thomas, Jr. But they can respond in kind and ask about her adams apple and the fact that there was no child named Ann Coulter born in Connecticut in 1962-63.

Am I interpreting this correctly? Is there an Ann-Coulter-was-born-a-man meme that I've somehow missed? Because that would be thoroughly hilarious if it turned out to be true. Can you imagine what it would do to the minds of the social conservatives? Bill Bennett: compulsive gambler. Rush Limbaugh: drug addict. Ann Coulter: transsexual. Wow.

JMS: More B5 Coming?

Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski told fans on a message board that he's working on a follow-up to the popular SF series, according to a report on the Dark Horizons Web site. Straczynski remained coy about the project, saying only that he'd have more news next month.

"On the B5 front, there has been something of rather substantial proportion that's finally gone from talk to money, such that I'm now working frantically to meet some deadlines," Straczynski posted. "But there's nothing I can say about this until after January 15th, probably closer to the end of that month."

Straczynski added, "The only thing I can say is that phase one of the new project is a go, hence the furious writing schedule at this end of things, which is why I've been silent until deciding to kick up some dust on the political discussion. I've been writing my little brains out. I wouldn't go on about something in this way if it wasn't a significant development."

Is Usama BinLaden a Cthulhu Cultist?
Since September 11th, a surprising amount of evidence has been brought forward to suggest that the international terrorist Usama BinLaden is in fact a servant of the Great Old Ones. Many people have taken his supposed stance as an Islamic Fundamentalist at face value, and have been unable or unwilling to percieve the unwholesome mysteries which lie beyond.

Ivor Browne interviewed
The Yoke features an interestesing interview with Ivor Browne: radical, psychedelic explorer, and Professor of Psychiatry at UCD (University College Dublin) (Mr.Joyce's alma mater, I think?). Browne discusses transnational corporations and depersonalization in psychiatric practice and in general modern life, "pseudo-living systems," drugs, violence, and morphic fields.

Uproar over mysterious e-mail: Both candidates reject missive as rancor grows
An e-mail of uncertain origins took center stage Sunday in the increasingly rancorous race for San Francisco mayor after it urged Green Party supporters to protest the visit of former Vice President Al Gore, who will be in town campaigning for Gavin Newsom.

Matt Gonzalez, Newsom's opponent in the Dec. 9 runoff election, accused Newsom's campaign of generating and circulating an e-mail urging Green Party supporters to disrupt Gore's visit on Tuesday, when he's scheduled to participate in Newsom's "Great Cities, Great Ideas'' forum.

At a press conference Sunday, Gonzalez representatives said the e-mail can be traced back to a "GavinNewsomFor'' Internet address, and attributed it to the Newsom campaign, which flatly denied any involvement.

"This is really taking it to a new level, trying to create an event,'' Gonzalez said between campaign stops in the Sunset and Glen Park on a rainy Sunday afternoon. He said Newsom manufactured the e-mail to stir up a partisan fight between the Greens and the Democrats.

Gonzalez is a Green and Newsom is a Democrat.

But chief Newsom campaign consultant Eric Jaye said the address "is not owned by us and it's not registered to us. This cannot and should not be linked to the Gavin Newsom campaign.''

Jaye said the accusation "is a dirty trick and it clearly is coming from someone who supports Matt Gonzalez. This guy's supporters are acting in an unlawful manner, and he has yet to address that.''

The finger-pointing between the two camps escalated Sunday and is expected to intensify as the Dec. 9 election nears. Both campaigns have accused the other of dirty tricks and unethical behavior. The e-mail caper is the latest.

A search on the American Registry of Internet Numbers, a site the Gonzalez campaign said provides evidence of Newsom campaign wrongdoing, does not specify who is behind the "GavinNewsomFor'' address.

However, Gonzalez campaign spokesman Ross Mirkarimi said, "We can see that the Newsom campaign is resorting to a level of tactic that simply defies what we believe is ethical campaigning and honest campaigning.''

Newsom said during a campaign stop in the Fillmore on Sunday afternoon that the accusations against his campaign are untrue and cast them as "slightly paranoid and absurd.''

"The fact is, I stand by everything this campaign has put out. I don't know, honestly, how he (Gonzalez) can stand by the things his campaign is putting out that are obviously deceitful.''

The e-mail in question starts out: "Stop Newsom, Stop the Two Party System. Greens Protest Al Gore.'' It tells people to march to the Gore event and urges people to "wear Green or a costume.''

Newsom campaign manager Jim Ross forwarded the e-mail to The Chronicle last week, and the campaign issued a press release Sunday that stated, "Matt Gonzalez's campaign for mayor threatens to disrupt Newsom event.'' It called the alleged protest a "continuation of juvenile pranks by Matt Gonzalez's campaign for mayor.''

Susan King, a state Green Party official, said her party was not behind the e-mail.

"The California and the San Francisco Green Party have not issued any call for any kind of protest for anything having to do with Gavin Newsom's campaign,'' she said.

Have You Seen Randolph Carter?
In October of 1928, Randolph Carter disappeared. While tragic, his mysterious disappearance was no great surprise to his closest friends, or to the people who really didn't like him very much, or the people who didn't know him at all and didn't have an opinion about him. Friends, foes and indifferent strangers had all become accustomed to the site of Carter walking down the street, head in the clouds as he dreamily envisioned alien landscapes in the far-reaching planes of his imagination...and then falling to the ground in a limp heap, sound asleep. Newcommers were told with a shrug that Carter was a narcoleptic; he would fall asleep in an instant, without provocation or cause.

In addition to being a recluse, a mystic, a bookworm and a bit of a nancy-boy, Carter's mysterious sleep-disease ensured his neighbor's opinion of him was always vague, and always vaguely ominous. Thusly, no one was very supprised when he vanished. If anything, most felt that it was an anti-climax. At least when the Whatley's disappeared over Dunwich-way the villagers had gotten a bit of a show...

Little did anyone suspect that Randolph Carter had travelled beyond time and space as we know them, beyond reality itself as humanity conceives it. And little did anyone care, because New England was crawling (literally and figuratively) with Elder Gods, Old Ones, Things from Beyond, murderous Fish-People and Shoggoths by the fourscore.

Ten Thousand Monkeys
"Well, here it is, our last issue of 2003. The hap hap happy holiday issue. SHOCKING isn't it? We're almost out of this odd year, and into the evens again. Makes you wonder what the future has to offer doesn't it?

For M10K, the future looks so bright we've all gotta wear shades. We've broken the centenial barrier: we have our 100th monkey. Funny that it happens to be my very own uncle. Who knew? And, strangely enough for an old Scrooge like me, we've actually got a pretty good collection of holiday stories as well. Go figure. So, strap on some sleigh bells, hum your favorite Xmas diddy, suck back some lighter fluid infused egg nog, and sit back for a damn good read. "

The Prankster and the Conspiracy: The Story of Kerry Thornley and How He Met Oswald and Inspired the Counterculture

The Prankster and the Conspiracy: The Story of Kerry Thornley and How He Met Oswald and Inspired the Counterculture"
By Adam Gorightly

Long time Steamshovel contributor Adam Gorightly has written the definitive biography of Kerry Thornley. "The Prankster and the Conspiracy: The Story of Kerry Thornley and How He Met Oswald and Inspired the Counterculture" will be available from Paraview Press in November, 2003 (http://www.paraview.com/)

The following is an excerpt from Chapter 14.

CHAPTER 14: DREADLOCK RECOLLECTIONS

“Is it not possible that Kerry’s involvement with the JFK assassination is simply synchronicity--that the many meaningful connections are part of a synchronous pattern rather than evidence that he has unwittingly been involved in a conspiracy?”

- Bob Shea, from a letter to Greg Hill,
dated November 22, 1975

In the summer of 1973, Kerry visited Greg Hill in New York City, where the two took in a folk concert in Washington Square. At this concert, Kerry came across a copy of the Yipster Times which forever after changed his life and reawakened long-forgotten ghosts.

The Yipster Times contained material which was afterwards expanded upon and published in a book by A.J. Weberman and Michael Canfield called Coup d’Etat in America, an acronym for the CIA and an allusion to “Company” complicity in the JFK assassination.

The thesis of Coup d’Etat in America suggested that Watergate conspirator and longtime CIA spook E. (Everett) Howard Hunt was one of the three mystery tramps renowned in Kennedy assassination lore, and it was the photographic evidence presented therein that led Kerry to believe that Hunt was, in fact, the shadowy character he’d met a full decade before--Gary Kirstein, aka Brother-in-law. Furthermore, Kerry came to believe that he’d been hypno-programmed as a substitute fall guy in the Kennedy assassination (in the event that the Oswald set-up went awry) and that E. Howard Hunt (in the guise of Brother-in-law) was one of Kerry’s “handlers.”

For those not in the know, the “three mystery tramps”--as they have been dubbed--were photographed in the vicinity of the grassy knoll not long after Kennedy got a chunk of his cranium catapulted across Elm Street and into the history books. These three tramps were picked up by the Dallas police and then released without any record of arrest. Weberman and Canfield put forth the theory that the three tramps were involved in the Kennedy assassination, and to bolster their theory the authors presented a series of photographic overlays that compared the profiles of certain notorious individuals to those of the tramps.

Fingered by the authors as one of the tramps was CIA contract agent Frank Sturgis, who was involved with E. Howard Hunt in the Bay of Pigs fiasco, as well as being a party to the infamous Watergate break-in, which some say Hunt “masterminded.”

Soon after the publication of Coup d’Etat in America, Hunt sued the authors for several million in damages, claiming he was in Washington, D.C., at CIA headquarters, on the day of the assassination. This alibi, however, was subsequently discredited. Soon after, Hunt changed his tune, alleging that on the day of the assassination he’d been on leave, performing husbandly household errands, which included a shopping trip to a grocery store in the Chinatown section of D.C. Strange Secrets:An Interview With Author Nick Redfern

http://www.steamshovelpress.com/latestword14.html

excerpt:

Nick Redfern emigrated to the USA to live in 2001. Nick's new book, Strange Secrets: Real Government Files on the Unknown (co-written with British author Andy Roberts), is just about to be published by Simon & Schuster. We speak with him about the book and its revelations linking the world of British, American and Russian Intelligence with that of the unexplained.

Q: What, broadly, is Strange Secrets about?

A: Essentially, the book is an examination of official files created from the 19th Century to the present day and shows the way in which various Intelligence agencies, such as the CIA, MI5, the US Defence Intelligence Agency and former KGB - among numerous others - have investigated unexplained phenomena and unsolved mysteries and have collated what might be termed real-life X-Files.

Q: Can you give the readers a few examples of the information that appears in the book?

A: Sure. The first thing I would want to stress to anyone reading this interview and who is contemplating buying the book, is that it does not rely on questionable or anonymous sources or unverifiable data. Even though some of the subject matter might be considered bizarre, the book is based solely on an examination of official documents that have surfaced via the US Government's Freedom of Information Act or the British Government's Thirty Year Ruling. I guess that perhaps one of the strangest revelations is the fact that both British and US Intelligence have investigated the so-called Crop Circle mystery. Practically everyone who reads UFO Magazine, I am sure, has heard of Crop Circles and has seen photographs of the various formations - or pictograms - that appear throughout England and the world each year. But less well known is what has been learned about the subject at an official level. For more than a decade rumours have circulated to the effect that the British Government has undertaken covert investigations of Crop Circles. To an extent, at least, that is true. At the Public Record Office at Kew there exists an intriguing file prepared at the height of the Second World War by none other than MI5 and that was declassified in 2001. The file deals with the way in which MI5 suspected that Nazi sympathisers and Fifth Columnists in the UK were sending messages to - and communicating with - the enemy. Interestingly, MI5 learned that in Poland, Holland, France and Belgium, this included 'the cutting of cornfields into guiding marks for aircraft'. To illustrate how closely this parallels today's Crop Circles, the official file refers to enemy sympathisers 'beating out signs twenty metres in diameter on harrowed fields or mowing such signs on meadows or cornfields'. Crop circles in other words! Interestingly, MI5 investigated a number of such formations that appeared in various British fields from 1940-1943 to determine if any of those same formations were some form of coded message intended for German pilots flying overhead.

Q: It's been a long-standing and acknowledged fact that US Intelligence has spent a lot of time delving into the world of Remote Viewing or what might be termed Psychic Spying.

A: That's right. Our book includes a whole section titled Mind Games that includes 5 chapters on the way that research into the power of the mind as a potential tool of espionage has been studied in both Russia and the USA. Maybe strangest of all was the research that both the US Department of Defence and the Russian military carried out to determine if Extra-Sensory Perception - or ESP - existed in the Animal Kingdom. Their conclusions - reached entirely independently - suggested it probably did exist in some form in higher animals such as dogs. The US DoD report also focuses on the possibility of an afterlife in the animal kingdom and discusses various experiments that had been undertaken to try and ascertain this. We also show that in 1952 the US Department of Defense was briefed on the way in which extrasensory perception could be used as a tool of psychological warfare. On this later subject of psychological warfare, we also reveal the way in which the US Army exploited legends of Vampires, Werewolves, Witchcraft and Sorcery to terrify superstitious enemy troops on various battlefields in the Philippines and in Vietnam.

Q: Having conducted all of this research, what are your conclusions about the way in which the worlds of officialdom and the unexplained have crossed paths?

A: Well, it's quite clear from examining the files on ESP and Psychic Spying that this research was carried out purely to determine if, at the height of the Cold War, there was a chance that the phenomena could be used as a tool of espionage. Similarly, the FBI's files on the Contactees had deep Cold War overtones and related directly to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover's concerns about Communism and the very real Soviet threat that existed at the time. And it can be argued that the British Government files on Crop Circles, Dowsing and the Foo Fighters were created largely as a result of the Nazi threat of the 1940s. And of course, the issue of lethal viruses and biological warfare as it relates to the Cattle Mutilation issue is one that is very relevant in today's post-9-11 world. But there are files in the book that are more problematic in terms of the motive for their creation - such as the CIA files on Noah's Ark.

"I got really into this "time-travel cult" called Ong's Hat when a computer-game programmer I know told me she was contacted by a physics scholar who said that a bunch of her recent games reflected their canon. This dude told my friend that someone from Ong's Hat had befriended her and inspired her to create certain games without her realizing it. Whoa, right?" - Jane Magazine
