Get thee behind me, cynicism. There’s amazing art and music to be experienced and to create; there are explorations in subversion to undertake. Cynicism is just in the frickin’ way of getting anything done, having fun, allowing for the idea that change is possible… and that people might create truly original works.

Sometimes those beliefs and artistic expressions are related, as is the case with musicians like Godspeed You Black Emperor!, who grant us an exclusive interview this issue. Between that, our insider’s view of the Sundance hit Waking Life, real life in High Fidelity, and the art/words of Mark Meadows, I’m feelin’ pretty inspired this issue. Too exhausted to write a proper Letter from the Editard, perhaps, but pleased to announce Signum’s new server and URL at www.signumpress.com, our peppy new look for the spring season, and a new update schedule (yup, we’re going monthly).
